Just Yours by Vons De Qua
Vons De Qua (VDQ) is an all girl youth rock band based out of San Francisco. I’ve been working with them for over a year now teaching them how to be in a band, how to rehearse and write songs. In August my old guitar student Hayli Holmes asked me if I needed any help in working with youth rock bands. I felt that Hayli would be the perfect match with these girls. So far she has inspired them to practice their instruments, she has helped run rehearsals and is even giving the girls private lessons.
This recording was done at Adam Rossi Audio on December 4th, 2011. Adam and I working on creating this production company were we teach kids how to record in the studio and how to prepare going in the studio. This is the second youth band that we’ve recorded.
Finally from what I understand the girls wrote this song as a reaction to one of their classmates telling one of them they shouldn’t sing anymore. I love that they turned that nasty comment into something positive. I hope you enjoy their first recorded song as much as Adam, Hayli and I do…
